Five minute caramel my ass.
Was going to try making a better filled chocolate tonight after work. My caramel would have time to firm up in the fridge. If I had caramel. What I have is the reeking results of scorched sugar and a smoke detector freaking out and terrified cats. That’s what I have.
Well for heavens sake, where did the recipe originate from? Scorched sugar? Cats afraid, I have a cat, too. Sounds like a nasty disaster. Gee.
It’s from “Bake Like a Pro” and it seems simple enough. Have just ruined batch # 4.

I am going to try again since I’m not thrilled with the flavour I achieved in the end. I got caramel though. Will not cook it so long or so dark next time. I’d like something slightly more golden coloured. For chocolates.
